Summary

The expedition was included within SLU:s International Bottom Trawl Survey and covered the Skagerrak and the Kattegat.

Mapping of winter nutrient conditions was performed in the Skagerrak and 10 stations with complete hydrography were sampled. In the Kattegat area 10 stations were sampled with ctd and bottle sample.

During the expedition one of the monitoring stations, Anholt E in southern Kattegat, was sampled.

The surface temperature and salinity were slightly above normal for the season. Nutrient concentrations showed values normal for the season, except for silicate that showed values above normal.

Oxygen conditions in the bottom waters of the investigated areas were good except in the south of Kattegat and varied from 4.4 to 7.0 ml/l.

The spring bloom was not beginning to start in the investigated area.
