Film: Climate Change Adaptation in Sweden

The film "Adapt to a future climate – examples from municipalities” offers an introduction to how society can be adapted to a changing climate and why it is important.

Representatives from several Swedish municipalities present how they have dealt with some of their challenges: securing drinking water from bacteria outbreaks, constructing roads differently to avoid flooding and using special routines within elderly care during heatwaves.

The film can serve as an inspiration and introduction ahead of discussions and decisions. It is eight minutes long, in Swedish but with English subtitles.

Swedish National Knowledge Centre for Climate Change Adaptation has produced the film. The centre provides tools and information to help society cope with a changing climate. The centre is based at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) as a governmental mission.
