Summary

Mapping of winter nutrient conditions was performed in the Skagerrak and 15 stations with complete hydrography were sampled. In the Kattegat 9 stations with complete hydrography were sampled. The nutrient concentrations were lower than normal in the Skagerrak. In the Kattegat the nitrogen concentrations were lower than normal. The oxygen condition in the bottom water of Skagerrak was good and no station recorded a saturation below 94%. In the bottom water of The Sound the lowest recorded oxygen concentration was 4.51 ml/l at Lundåkrabukten, corresponding to a degree of saturation of 67%. At the visited frequent station P2 the Skagerrak and Fladen and Anholt E in the Kattegat surface temperature, salinity and oxygen amounts in the bottom water were normal for the season. At P2 the spring bloom was ongoing.
