Summary
In the Skagerrak 9 stations with complete hydrography and 8 with sampling of oxygen and salinity in bottom water were visited. In the Kattegatt mapping of oxygen conditions in bottom water was performed, 9 stations with complete hydrography and 17 with oxygen and salinity near bottom were sampled. The lowest oxygen concentration measured in the bottom water of the Skagerrak was 3.61ml/l at NW Skägga in the north-eastern part, corresponding to a degree of saturation of 60%, and in the Kattegatt 0.25ml/l at Skälderviken in south-eastern part corresponding to 4%. The bottom water of the entire south-eastern part of Kattegatt, from about 57°N, showed oxygen values below 2 ml/l. At the visited frequent stations, P2 in the Skagerrak and Fladen and Anholt E in the Kattegatt sea surface temperature was about 4°C higher than normal. In the Kattegatt oxygen amounts in the bottom water were lower than normal. Salinity and nitrate and phosphate concentration in the surface water were normal for the season.
