SMHI Hydro on Montel provides GWh forecasts

Trading on the Nordic energy market calls for in-depth knowledge of water availability in the two Nordic countries with major hydropower production.

Hydrological information gives you the edge

We offer a general hydrological package for Sweden and Norway, covering precipitation, snow, soil water and runoff. The results are based on the modern and updated E-HYPE model developed by SMHI, and forecasts are shown in the most relevant form, i.e. GWh.

The model runs daily and incoming data are supervised and analysed by hydrologists with experience in the energy market.

What are the benefits?

  • GWh-forecasts per price areas, covering Norway and Sweden
  • The ability to take advantage of the hydrological situation
  • The ability to react swiftly
  • Access to extensive experience in hydrological modelling at SMHI
  • Daily updates
