HYPE Data Delivery Services

SMHI offers data deliveries from the hydrological model HYPE in standardized formats or customized to your needs. In addition, our team of experts is ready to answer your questions on model setup, calibration and data deliveries.

What we offer

  • Standardized deliveries of modelled discharge or other hydrologic variables from our current HYPE model versions in Excel format or NetCDF-format.
  • Development of new operational model applications with deliveries in any format.
  • Bring your own data to use/merge with the HYPE model.

Prices

Data itself is free of charge, but there are costs associated with the production and distribution of data, as well as maintaining support for our customers. At present, forecasts are available from the two HYPE domains: Europe and Sweden. Historic data and forecasts for Sweden are offered in our portal for Open Data. The price list below refers to data for Europe from the E-HYPE model.

Inflow forecasts for hydropower production

Time series of daily river inflow [m3/s] as a measure of the amount of water available for production. Daily river inflow is modelled for the whole EHYPE model domain. Historical modelled data are available from 1981-01-01. Forecast data are delivered once every day, modelled variables for the last 30 days and deterministic forecast for the upcoming 10 days. Delivery in CSV or NetCDF format file.
