15:00-15:45 An exhibition inside the city museum, called "Moa Martinson – back to the industrial city”.

Norrköping's Industrial Landscape recounts how a run-down and deserted industrial area was transformed into a unique attraction, a cultural heritage, right in the middle of central Norrköping. The Industrial Landscape around Motala stream is unique in Europe. It consists of the central parts of the city and is dominated by the rushing water of the stream and by stately factory buildings. Most factories were built between 1850 and 1920 but the rapids and falls of the stream have been utilized ever since the middle ages. Thousands of people worked with spinning and weaving in wool and cotton in the factories. Until 1870, the city remained in a leading position concerning textile industry but then followed many cyclical fluctuations. In the 1950s the textile crisis was a fact and in 1970 the last of the city’s wool companies closed down. Photo: Norrköping Stadsmuseum.

Moa Martinsson has become one of Sweden’s most beloved authors, including her book series – “Mother Gets Married”. The series of novels about the girl Mia are Moa Martinson’s autobiographical books about her childhood and youth in Norrköping 1890-1906. In the exhibition “Moa Martinson – back to the industrial city” you get to experience Moa Martinson’s Norrköping as she described it. The exhibition covers themes that include motherhood, growing up, class society and survival.". Photo: Norrköping Stadsmuseum.

We are welcome to try Curling on Wednesday afternoon. We will receive an introduction to curling from an expert and have 1.5 hours to try the game.
If you want to join us, please bring clean shoes that are suitable for use on slippery ice. Loose and warm clothing is recommended because it is quite chilly in the ice hall. Other equipment for the game is available to borrow in the hall. Also keep in mind that there is a certain risk of injury, people sometimes slip and hurt themselves on the hard ice. Just so you are aware.
We have preliminarily booked three lanes where eight players per lane can be active, meaning a maximum of 24 people can participate in this activity.

Norrköping Curling Club was founded in 1917 and currently has around 200 members. The club's members have competed in both the World Cup and the European Championship. The current curling hall is located just a few hundred meters from SMHI and was built in 2004. Photo: Photo Agency
