Some practical information for your visit to Norrköping.

Venue

The workshop will be held at the SMHI office in Norrköping.

How to reach the venue

Directions from the train station

Take tram no. 3 towards Klockaretorpet. The stop is called 'Sandtorp' and the SMHI buildings are easily visible from there. The journey takes around 20 minutes from Norrköping Central.

Directions by road

From the E4 highway (Stockholm-Helsingborg), take the Norrköping S exit, and immediately afterwards, turn off towards Klockaretorpet. Follow the signs for SMHI.

Arriving by plane

The closest regular airport to Norrköping is Linköping airport (LPI).
Please note, this airport is not served by public transport.

Taxi journeys in Sweden are freely priced, so prices can vary widely between operators. Always check the estimated price with the driver, and ask for a fixed price if you want to know what you will pay in advance.

Stockholm - Arlanda airport (ARN) is the nearest large airport. Onward travel to Norrköping by train has an estimated travel time of 2 h to 2.5 h. Direct trains from the airport to Norrköping are available, but most connections require a change at Stockholm Central station. There are also long-distance buses departing from Stockholm Central to Norrköping.

If you book a transfer from Norrköping to Arlanda by train, make sure you have some extra time to change from train to plane, as delays may occur.

You can also arrive at Copenhagen airport (CPN, Denmark), which is a 3.5 h to 4 h train ride from Norrköping.

You can also download the iPhone/Android app called 'Östgötatrafiken', which is very helpful and intuitive for planning local journeys.

Renovation of the tram tracks in central Norrköping is ongoing until October 31, 2025. Public transport uses a replacement bus for part of the route to SMHI, as shown in the travel planner/app.

You cannot pay cash on the tram/bus! You can pay for local travel onboard the tram/bus by tapping ('blippa' in Swedish) your bank card on the device by the door as you enter. No need to tap out.

Beautiful walk to the city centre

Many of our guests enjoy walking between SMHI and the city centre. The walk is about 4 km, partly beautifully situated along the river 'Motala Ström' and close to the old industrial landscape of Norrköping.

Currency

Drinking water

Everywhere in Sweden, tap water is clean and of very good quality so there is no need to purchase bottled water.

Electricity
