Summary
Nutrient conditions were normal for the season. Hydrogen sulphide was found in the deep water in large areas of the Baltic and oxygen concentrations below 2 ml/l were generally found at depths exceeding 60 to 80 metres in the whole Baltic Proper. In the whole Baltic proper there was a considerable bloom of bluegreen algae, dominated by Nodularia spumigena.
