Synonym(s):

Life-form: Solitary with one long trailing flagellum and one very short anterior flagellum.

Size: Length 3-11µm, width 2-5 µm.

Resting spore: -

Note: Could be confused with Amastigomonas debruynei de Saedeleer

Distinctive features: The proboscis-like extension of the anterior part of the cell.

Distribution: Widely distributed both in fresh water and marine waters.
