EUROHARP - Towards European Harmonised Procedures for Quantification of Nutrient Losses From Diffuse Sources (EU project) Implementation of the Water Framework Directive calls, inter alia, for harmonised methodologies/tools to quantify nutrient losses from diffuse sources. EUROHARP will compare the performance of nine quantification tools by applying them on a large number of European-wide catchments, located in a network of 17 catchments throughout Europe.
The project has 22 partners from 17 countries and is co-ordinated by Norwegian Institute for water research (NIVA). Sweden contributes with the TRK model system, which includes the dynamic models SOILNDB and HBV-N, accompanied with GIS support. Additionally, the VASTRA pilot-catchment Rönne å is also an EUROHARP test site. The Swedish participation includes scientists from both SMHI and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Duration: 2002-2005 Funded by: EU, Swedish EPA (NV), SMHI Responsible at SMHI: Berit Arheimer External partners: researchers in 17 European countries Website: http://www.euroharp.org/index.htm |
