FUTURE FLOOD RISKS

With research money from the Swedish Insurance company Länsförsäkringar SMHI is studying the influence of a future climate on insurance risks. The time span is from to day and 100 years ahead. The purpose of the project is to calculate future flood risks and water stages in terms of return times and the results will be presented in tables and maps both regional and covering all Sweden. Three sites in Sweden are specially studied: River Dalälven, Lake Mälaren and Lake Vänern.
