The MATCH model

MATCH is the acronym for Multiscale Atmospheric Transport and Chemistry Model. MATCH models the basic processes of atmospheric transport, governing sources, sinks and transformation of atmospheric trace constituents in a three-dimensional framework. The model is Eulerian and can be configured with an arbitrary number of layers in the vertical and for different geographical areas with different resolution. Depending on application, specific modules describing physical or chemical transformation processes are added to the basic model. The model is driven by meteorological data taken from operational numerical weather prediction models such as HIRLAM or ECMWF, objective analyses such as MESAN or from combinations of these.
