Data and statistics
SMHI has access to a comprehensive database with a long series of day-to-day observations from weather stations throughout the world. From the database, weather statistics are customised based on your requirements and needs for the best possible decision-making information. Read more about how we can compile climate data for each parameter, or contact us so that you can choose the parameters and stations or find out what it costs.
Products
Temperature
– what will the temperature be like?
Our temperature products include, among other things, time series, mean and normal values, frequency tables, temperature maps and estimates of duration and return periods.
Temperature
Wind
– what does the wind climate look like?
SMHI supplies data series, wind roses, frequency tables, return times, storm maps and information for the development of wind power.

Solar radiation
– how often does the sun shine?
Receive data from SMHI's solar radiation stations, or calculate the values for any point with the STRĂ…NG model.

Snow depth
– how does snow coverage usually disperse?
Many of SMHI's stations measure the depth of snow coverage. Data can be presented in table or map form.

Data from stations abroad
– weather from the whole world
Through cooperation with metrological institutes throughout the world, SMHI has access to data from many measuring stations abroad.

Precipitation
– what does the pattern of precipitation look like?
Mean precipitation, extremes, frequency distribution and return time are presented in table form, maps, graphs and reports.

Air humidity
– how does air humidity vary?
We provide compilations of outdoor air humidity for relative and absolute humidity levels, the mixture ratio and dew point.

Visibility
– how far can you see?
We show the variation in visibility over a period of 24 hours, a season and longer periods in clearly displayed tables and maps.

Ice development on masts
– how prevalent is icing?
Knowing how often icing takes place on masts and wind power installations is important from a dimensioning and safety point of view.
