Groundwater and Dependent Ecosystems: New Scientific and Technological Basis for Assessing Climate Change and Land-use Impacts on Groundwater

The objective of GENESIS is to integrate existing and new scientific knowledge into new methods and tools for magaing groundwater resources. The project comprises 16 case studies in groundwater aquifers all over Europe. SMHI will contribute with (1) tailored inputs to climate effect studies and (2) development of both regional climate models and hydrological models.

Duration: 2009-2013

Funded by: EU

Responsible at hydrology research: Jonas Olsson

External partners: The project is coordinated by Bioforsk, Norway, and Oulu University, Finland. Totalt number of partners: 25.
