We are looking for a new employee to SMHI's business department and the consultant group within Air Quality. Air Quality group consists of 14 consultants with diverse backgrounds such as meteorologists, engineers and physicists. We are working with air quality and climate related projects and also with development and maintenance of our air quality systems (Airviro and SIMAIR). We have close cooperation with SMHI’s research groups within air quality and climate and also other disciplines.

As a consultant in air quality at SMHI, you work with multiple pieces. Parallel to various projects within air quality, such as mapping of air emissions and dispersion modeling, you contribute to the product development and take an active part in tender processes to secure future projects. The work is mostly done in project form and usually in project collaboration within and outside SMHI.

The position offers a varied and challenging work with great demands on your skills as well as your ability to work with customer and business value focus. Ability to translate customer needs into cost effective solutions is a prerequisite to succeed.

The position is permanent and localized in Norrköping Sweden.

Your profile

You have M.Sc. degree or equivalent in meteorology, physics or related fields. Experience of consulting services or air quality experiences are considered as an advantage.

It is required that you have programming experience and that you are an experienced Unix / Linux user. The fastest way to come into work is if you have experience within Python, Fortran and BASH. Experience of GIS tools is also an advantage.

You are good at capturing the customer's needs and are able to put these into practice. You have high self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and to cooperate / collaborate with others. You enjoy a high work tempo.

As a person you are flexible, proactive and possess problem solving analytical skills. You will be dealing with several projects simultaneously, which demands good ability to plan and prioritize. You comprehend Swedish language and communicate freely even in English. Other language skills are an advantage.
