We seek a project coordinator for EMBRACE. Such a person will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the project, under the direction of the project leader. Responsibilities will include: construction and maintenance of the EMBRACE website, dissemination of EMBRACE science activities through a range of media channels, collation and submission of project reports and deliverables to the EU, organization of project workshops and conferences, as well as regular interaction with SMHI Financial Department, who are responsible for all financial aspects of the project.
The Rossby Centre is also engaged in a range of other EU projects, with partner status. The applicant will also take responsibility for coordinating these EU projects within the group, assisting Rossby Centre staff in the preparation of reports and deliverables to the EU, in dissemination activities pertinent to each project and generally ensuring smooth running of these projects.
Your profile
We seek a dynamic, outgoing person with excellent organizational and communication skills. You will have a Masters degree or higher in a relevant scientific field, such as Environmental, Climate or Biological Sciences, with an excellent ability to communicate complex scientific findings to a range of audiences, from European and National politicians, to scientists in parallel disciplines, the media and the general public.
Prior experience in science communication and/or the coordination of large projects would be an advantage, likewise, experience in developing and maintaining project web pages. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Swedish would be an advantage.
The position is permanent and will be located at SMHI in Norrköping, Sweden.
