The purpose of ECDS is to improve access to Swedish research data. In order to achieve this, the data exchange process needs to be standardised. The method that has been chosen is based on a metadata catalogue where information is stored about the datasets, together with links to the data source. The metadata is stored in a standardised way so that it can be searched.
